What is your main role at your company?
I oversee all pharmacy operations for Jackson Hospital & Clinic, Inc. including but not limited to management and oversight of a 24/7 operation consisting of at least thirty-one employees ranging from pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and licensed practical nurses, overseeing medication management, preparation, procurement, and safety, and creating medication management guidelines and policies/procedures for the pharmacy department. I also serve on 5 interdisciplinary committees as a pharmacy representative for Jackson Hospital & Clinic, Inc.
What is your number one career accomplishment or highlight?
I assumed my role as the COVID-19 pandemic was reaching the state of Alabama. During this time, numerous nationwide drug shortages caused critical medications to be scarce. Our team was able to circumnavigate through those challenging shortages and drug allotment restrictions so that there were not any disruptions, nor any treatment delays for our patients. Our staff procured, prepared, and administered well over 10,000 COVID-19 vaccinations to those throughout the River Region Area.
How are you involved in your community?
Throughout the year, I serve our community at numerous hospital-sponsored community events which include health screenings and fundraising events for various community causes.
What is your key to success?
Learning and working alongside the leadership group within Jackson Hospital has allowed me the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. Continued commitment and dedication to keeping our patients first by serving our community members unconditionally while providing our patients compassionate and safe medical care during the most vulnerable times of their lives.
